Welcome to MamaBlog with Stial

This blog simply is about being a mother and the remarkable journey it is in life.

I am sure it will have its peaks and troughs and this blog is to share and hopefully get some real life advice.

A week to go

About a week to go and these are the current side effects of my pregnancy;

  • Pushing back pain – not a knife stabbing pain as before but more a tired pushing pain if you know what I mean
  • Stabbing pain in the groin – this should be because the cervix is thinning out and that is a good thing, makes me stop on the street in agony
  • Increasing Braxton Hicks
  • Moving bowling ball in the womb – the bowling ball is the baby by the way
  • Needle pain in the female private parts – again this is a sign of that part preparing itself
  • Other private issues with the female private area....no need to go in to too much detail
  • A bowling ball trying to get out of the belly button
  • Baby brain – examples are walking in to the closet to throw rubbish, forgetting where I am driving while on the freeway (I should really stop driving now)
  • 100% obsessed with getting this baby out
  • Vivid and very real dreams about going in to labour
  • Tiredness – you see me past 20.30 you must be very special as I am normally dead to the world by then
  • Madness
  • More cellulite (great) - I ignore the people that say that once you have the cellulite you can't get rid of them. I will prove them different
  • Toilet issues - I don’t know the signs when I need to go to toilet
  • Fragile – I can cry for anything at anytime (makes Craig really happy)
  • Very heavy and stretched tummy, including numbness in the skin. I think the baby have a big bum as it is very heavy when I lie on my right, which is where the bum is
  • Bad sleep – well I have to move the pillow I have under my tummy and in-between my legs every time I move, if nothing else that make you wake up on an hourly basis and then I lie there listening to my dog snoring, breathing, farting or if I am lucky licking his private parts...just like a baby (except for the last thing I hope)
  • Low appetite
  • Increased worry about the labour

There might be more but I can’t remember and I think it is enough (notice that growing boobs still is not on this list....bhuuuuuu).

Anyway all in all I am actually feeling very good and am SO excited. Bought another couple of bouncy toy things which hang from the roof the other day. So cute! Keeping up with my walks and trying to stay as active as I can. Craig thinks I look as happy as I have ever been, a nice thing to say.

Craig has taken the nesting symptom with building, building and organising the home.

Went back to OB / doctor yesterday and he want to see me Monday again to see how much the cervix has thinned out...any day now. Baby is as far down as it can and it can’t be much further down unless it comes out (I added that). It looks quite funny because I literally have a bump just above the pubic bone, or maybe you can call it fat too.

I don’t have much else on my brain at the moment but need to try to do some serious work.

So until next time, have fun!
