38 weeks and ready to go go go

Good news, the baby is fully engages and just looking for the button to come out. Obstetrician / doctor says it can be any day but I guess it can also mean in three weeks. Bhuuuuuu.....

I already feel physically and emotionally exhausted and don’t know how I will manage something many people describe as a marathon. I trust my beloved endorphins will do a massive job.

Even though the baby has engaged I don’t feel much different. It is a bit harder to bend down and a bit more pain in my groin but nothing to worry about. I also need to stop and concentrate a bit more when walking the dog as it feels I will wet myself sometime....not very attractive I know. It is those pelvic muscles again...

For me this is mostly psychological. I can’t get it out of my head that the baby can literally come any minute. It is exhausting thinking about it all the time and it makes it very hard to sleep. I am not the best sleeper anyway and this is not making it any easier. I wish the baby will come soon so I can stop thinking about it...might not give me more sleep though and it can prove to be an issue.

I noticed on the scale yesterday that I have lost some weight, only 0,5 – 1 kg but I got a bit worried. Craig doesn’t think I eat enough but I am really trying to eat more. I’m so not feeling like eating at all. However, I read on one of the pregnancy websites that it can be quite common at this stage that women can lose a bit of weight. It made me feel a bit better, even though I probably can do with gaining a bit more...so far the scale says 8,5 kg. The obstetrician is not worried and that is the main thing.

Most of all I am quite emotional and my mode is going up and down. The OB called it fragile – I liked that! Still I feel for Craig who gets to take the front of it.

Until next time, have fun!
