Welcome to MamaBlog with Stial

This blog simply is about being a mother and the remarkable journey it is in life.

I am sure it will have its peaks and troughs and this blog is to share and hopefully get some real life advice.

Where does the time go?

I honestly try to write this blog everyday but once a week is as often as I seem to make it at the moment. Actually a week is like a day now days.

With a baby in the house, you don’t get much done. That is a new insight for me. I knew that you would be busy but not like this.

On your to do list, cut it down to 1 thing and expect to have that done maybe within the next two to three days. I know, seems ridicules but that is what it is like in our household at the moment. Without my husband I wouldn’t eat at the moment.

In between feedings, pumping (something I have to do, more about that later), nappy changes and nursing and settling for sleep you just about have time to go to toilet, eat a toast or two and put the nappies in the bin until the same circle starts again. I reheated my breakfast 5 times this morning and got to eat it at 11am.

My husband asked me kindly to write an email the other day. An email I knew I really needed to write. I got so stressed, burst into tears and the whole day got out of wack....just for an email...

I have forgotten to feed my dog several times and only get reminded by his persistent barking. I have consistent guilt that I don’t spend more with him and try to eat, feed and pat the dog at the same time. I knew there was a reason that it is the women that have the children, you have to be an expert in multitasking and let’s face it, it isn’t the man’s strongest area.

My house is a mess and I am so late paying the bills that I had to plead with the bank to remove my credit card interest.

I have come to another new insight – who I admire

I admire every mother with two children, a dog and a full time job. How do they do it? And if they succeed to go to the gym too they seriously must have some super juice in their back pocket.

I have only 1 baby, one dog and a husband who does most things for me and I already struggle...maybe I learn how to multitask better and realise that 7h sleep in one night and to wear anything else than a pair of tracksuit pants are totally over rated.

Until next opportunity to write have a good time.

But this is the reason for everything and I think she is the sweetest thing there is and I wouldn't change a thing - bath time is my favorite.
